Ta Da

As my Aunt Glo has reminded me, I have yet to post video of the beloved Daisy's dance. Here are two videos of Megan performing. In the first, she is "fancy" in her scarf and hat. Mind you it was 80+ outside. In the second, you get to see a bit of our drama major in the making.

Bath time!

I love this picture of the girls during their first bath together. They had a great time together and Megan keeps asking to do it again. The hardest part was keeping Katie seated. She kept reaching for Megan and all of her toys.

And, by popular demand, here is another video. Katie was very intrigued by the camera, especially because she could see herself. Plus she is becoming quite the peekaboo pro.

Halloween at Little Gym

A little ladybug invaded The Little Gym today but she acted more like a monkey than a ladybug.

Fall Fun

The last few weeks have been filled with fall fun - pumpkin patches, petting zoos and pumpkin carving.

Our first pumpkin patch was last weekend and it included a petting zoo.

Earlier this week, Megan and I cleaned out a pumpkin so daddy could carve it for us. We definitely had the easier of the two jobs, especially since we had him carve Megan's favorite character - Minnie Mouse.

Today we went to a local pumpkin patch and played in the mud with our mommy group friends. After a very, very wet October, there was mud everywhere. I was proud of our little Megan. Although she is normally my little priss, she was jumping and squishing in the mud. Even when she slipped and got mud all over her jeans, she just dusted herself off and kept playing.

Halloween Party

Last night was the Halloween Party for our mommy group. Our little ladybug seemed to have a great time with her friends. Here she is with Eliza (snow white) and Holly (pumpkin). The kids decorated pumpkins, played games, ran around in bubbles, and got there pictures taken.

Megan loves the wand that came with her costume. She has been "zap"ing all of us for a week and Katie really gets a kick out of it. Here is a video of them together.

Katie's 4 Month Appointment

Last week was Katie's 4 month appointment and she is 25 inches long and 13 lb. 7 1/2 oz. We were amazed to learn she is actually smaller than Megan at the same age. Megan weighed nearly a pound more. We thought Katie was going to be our chubby baby, especially with those cheeks!

The girls seem to be getting closer and closer. Katie lights up and giggles everytime Megan talks to her. More and more I will look over and see Megan snuggled close to Katie and giving her hugs and kisses. I'm sure as soon as Katie can crawl to get Megan's toys, the love will be tested!

Summertime!

Its amazing to me that it is already the middle of August. The summer has flown by. Mind you I wouldn't mind a few cooler days, but I don't know where the summer has gone. Katie has already changed so much. She is holding her head up really well and is thrilled to have found her feet.

I know that many kids have a really hard time adjusting to a new sibling. Although we had a few rough months, I am amazed at what a great sister Megan has been. Even at 2 she is so very loving with Katie and gets a kick out of Katie smiling at her.

Megas has grown a lot too. When I look back at pictures from the beginning of the year until now, she has gone from still looking like a baby to now looking like a little girl. Here she is riding her rocking horse.

.

And here she is in her "fancy" shoes and sunglasses. She looks like such a diva!

Summer Fun

Last night was Megan's first swim lesson. Our little confident daughter kept telling her father, "Megan can do it." She did amazingly well, even during the goodbye song, which ends in her going under water.

While Megan was in the pool, Katie was cooing at the birdy hanging from her carseat.

Katie's little personality is starting to come out and her giggle is absolutely precious. Normally she hates belly time but today she seemed to be enjoying it a little more. In the second pic, she is wearing a headband that my college roommate makes and sells.

July 4th Party

Our July 4th party was a hit. Between the bounce house and the sprinklers, the kids seemed to have a great time. Eliza and Megan were adorable, holding hands and playing together.

Here's Megan's friends, Ella and Adam Jr. I'm so glad they were able to come over and play.

New Family Member

We also welcomed a new family member this weekend. Larry finally got his new truck - Ford F150 of course and I think he's in love. Great Father's Day gift huh?

Here he is with his new baby.

First Haircut

Well the day has finally come. We can no longer ignore our little Megan's baby mullet. Though very hesitant, Larry and I took Megan to get her first haircut. Tears were expected and maybe some yelling but we were amazed at how well she handled it. She got to drive in a firetruck chair and watch The Little Mermaid all while her hair was getting a much needed trim.

AFTER (note the adorable bow)

I am amazed daily at how fast she is growing up! She is truly a big girl and now she looks the part.

Playhouses and Potty Chairs

Megan's Big Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend was a big one for Megan. We all went to the zoo on Saturday where she saw elephants, giraffes, and tortoises. Amazingly the one animal she kept asking for was a cow, which she sees everyday behind our house. Katelyn also had a good time doing what babies do best - she slept.

For her birthday, Megan got a playset which her daddy has been diligently building each weekend. This weekend he finished her swing set and she lived outside swinging and going down the slide.

And (the big news) today Megan went potty on her potty chair for the very first time! We are very excited for her. Today we will be going shopping for big girl underpants! Hopefully we can find some with Minnie Mouse on them.

Katelyn Grace Snyder

Well, I have been lax in my posting. Since my last post, the Snyder family has grown by 1. Katelyn Grace was born on April 15th and weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz. Since then she has done nothing but grow. At her one month appointment she weighed in at 9 lbs. 10 oz.
Megan is an amazing big sister who is very gentle with Katelyn - not that we had any doubt. Megan also had a big day. She turned 2 years old on May 4th. My dad was in town and my mom came over to celebrate. Unfortunately we couldn't have a party with all of her friends because it was so soon after Katie came home. We hope to have all of her little friends over soon to make up for it.
