Summer Part 2

Since my last update, Katie started going to school with Megan. The first couple of days were a little tough at the classroom door but she LOVES it now. The girls also realized that funny faces are more fun than just smiles.

This picture was taken on spirit day in their school shirts.

I was sorting through pictures this afternoon and realized that since the break from 100+ weather, the girls and I have been enjoying the outdoors a lot more. Both girls love to ride the scooter around the cul-de-sac, color with chalk and play in water.

This is what happens when you tell your kids to get dressed to go outside and play. You never know what interesting combination they will wear.

Months ago, the girls and I saw kids playing in a mud puddle on TV. I realized I had been lax as a mother because my girls had never had that joy. I promised them that the next time we had rain, we'd play in the water.... Then enter drought! We haven't had any rain in forever. One morning we went out front and the girls saw a puddle at the end of the driveway and asked if they could play in it. Rain puddle... irrigation puddle....they didn't notice a difference.

Summer 2011

Earlier this summer, we found the perfect class for Megan - Princess Ballerina Camp. Megan loves to dress up as a princess and we've been watching her dance around since she was able to stand. The class was even more fun because Ella, Camden and Grayden, three of her best friends, were enrolled in the class too.

For those who weren't able to be there... Enjoy the show!

Our Winter

Larry not so subtly reminded me that it has been way too long since I updated the blog with new pictures. Realizing my last post was in October, I have definitely missed posting much.

Katie has changed the most in the last few months. As her vocabulary increases, so does her happiness.

Our Christmas was wonderful. The magic of Christmas with two little girls is priceless.

Megan's Aunt Tina bought her some new princess shoes, which both girls now wear daily. My very versatile daughter can both dress in her finest shoes and shoot a 3 pointer from the line. She was also a huge fan of the freak snow storm that we had again this year.

Katie loves being mommy's big helper - even at the cost of several baby wipes. At least my floor is getting clean.

Katie won her first medal at Little Gym this year. With the way she climbs, I think this might be the first of many gymnastic metals.

The girls both went to a princess tea party and dressed up in fancy gowns. Katie loves to play dress up in her sister's clothes too. Katie says "Ta-da!"

Megan decided a while ago that she wants to be a toy maker when she grows up. She wanted her first toy to be a ice cream truck. Thanks goes to her daddy for helping with the wheels.

Over Spring Break the girls and I went to a drive through zoo with some friends. Both girls had a chance to feed animals right from their hands. We even had a visitor through the sun roof.
